How to print remotely:
1. Send an email to library@avonbytheseanj.com with your email address.
2. Wait for a confirmation email that says we have added your email address.
3. Email the file you want to print to avonlibraryprinter@hpeprint.com
4. Call us when you are outside of the library and we will bring your print job out to you.
Note: You only need to do Steps 1 and 2 the very first time you are printing remotely. After we have added your email address the first time, you can skip ahead and start at Step 3.
Handicapped Access
The Library has wheelchair access to computer facilities and the catalog on the ground level of the building.
Internet
The Avon Public Library is a Wi-Fi hotspot offering access to the Internet from your own device or from four public computers in the library. Access the Internet from the the lawn when the Library is not open.
Online Resources
The Palace Project
This is a new service from New Jersey State Library which will provide access to content in the Palace Project to every New Jersey resident who chooses to sign up. This content includes the Digital Public Library of America-curated Palace Bookshelf of approximately 17,000 items, the perpetually-licensed Boundless (formerly Axis 360) titles purchased by the New Jersey State Library, and items purchased through the Palace Marketplace by the New Jersey State Library. In total, those three collections comprise close to 20,000 items, with great potential for expansion.
The process for signing up for a virtual barcode will be completely self-contained within the Palace app, and will require only an email address and authentication through geolocation (anywhere in NJ). Click here for instructions on how to gain access.
Ebscohost
Click here for access to all of the Ebsco databases for special and general interest periodicals, a special search product for children called Searchasaurus, Business Databases, and Health Information. For remote access, use your Avon Public Library card number (AVPL####). If you do not know this number, or if you have trouble accessing Ebsco, call the Library for assistance.
Flipster
Flipster allows Avon Public Library patrons to access digital versions of all of your favorite magazines! It is accessible on computers via this link, or smart phones and tablets via the Flipster app in the App Store. All you need is your Avon Public Library Card number (AVPL####). If you do not know this number, or if you have trouble accessing Flipster, call the Library for assistance.
Hoopla
Hoopla is a groundbreaking digital media service that allows you to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics, and TV shows to enjoy on your computer, tablet, phone - or even your smart TV! For access, use your Avon Public Library card number (AVPL####). If you do not know this number, or if you have trouble accessing Hoopla, call the Library for assistance.
Libby
We are now offering ebooks for loan online. Ebooks online are now better than ever and easier to access through www.elibrarynj.com or the Overdrive app, Libby. Call for a one-on-one tutorial with your reading device and you will be downloading in no time.
