2020 Summer Activity & Fall Soccer Registration:
AVON DAY KIDS FUN RUN (): Avon Home and School Association (AHSA) is pleased to announce our Annual Fun Run in connection with the Avon 5K. This fun run race is open to all friends and family and the proceeds from this event, benefits enrichment programs for the students at Avon Elementary School. This year the race takes place on Friday, June 1st . Racers under age 4 up to Grade 5 are invited to participate. You can sign up for the race by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to request a registration form and we will arrange for a registration form to be sent to you. You can drop your completed form and check off to the Avon School in an envelope marked “Fun Run”. All pre-registrants are guaranteed a T-Shirt upon registration. All others will receive a T-shirt while supplies last. Please meet us on Ocean/Norwood Ave by the Pool from 5:30-6:30 pm to pick up your child's race packet on the day of the race. Avon Home & School Association will host several activities at the Fun Run, which includes a DJ, water and ice cream after the race.
AVON DAY 5K RACE (): The 23rd Annual Avon 5K Run / Walk will be held on TBD with an 8:30 Start time. This race benefits the Avon First Aid & Safety Squad. AVON SURF CAMP: Children will be taught the basic techniques of surfing, along with proper safety rules. Conditions permitting, the Surf Camp will be run as follows:
Ages 10 & Up:
All sessions will be held at the Woodland Avenue Beach from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The registration fee is $50.00 per child and includes lessons, games, a surf camp T-shirt and a bagel party on Friday.
FALL SOCCER: Combined with Belmar, the K-1 clinic program starts in mid-August. There will be 1 night clinic followed by team selections. Teams are encouraged to have 2 practices per week. The games are played on Saturday mornings at 8:00 at 22nd Ave field. In case of rain make up games are played Sunday. Shin guards required; cleats strongly suggested.
Division II (Grades 2-4) and Division I (Grades 5-8) games begin in mid-September. Division I and II players will be contacted in mid-August regarding team rosters and coaches. Registration fee is $40 per child. Volunteer coaches are needed.
The Avon Recreation Department provides recreation services for the children of the Borough of Avon, as well as Avon Elementary School tuition students. Some of the activities include soccer leagues in the fall, basketball leagues in the winter, baseball and softball leagues in the spring, and Tennis lessons and Surf Camp in the summer.
The department also runs the Leisure Citizens, Halloween Party and Holiday Tree Lighting event.
Registration for Recreation Activities:
Registration will be held at the Avon Municipal Gym Conference room on the following dates for ALL recreation activities.
Proof of Residency Policy: Avon Recreation reserves the right to request proof of residency at the time of registration. Please have available an Avon tax bill, water/sewer bill or lease along with your driver's license when signing up for summer activities.
All checks should be made payable to ARC.
Refund Policy: There are no cash refunds or credits issued for recreation activities.
