Tax Bills: New tax bills will be mailed out during the summer. The 3rd quarter will be due August 1st. There is a ten (10) day grace period.

Our Assessor, Tim Anfuso, has office hours on Monday evenings, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. His office is located at 605 Woodland Avenue (at the water plant). His telephone number is 732-502-4510, Ext. 239.

The Tax Collector is responsible for the billing, collection, reporting and enforcement of municipal taxes for the Borough of Avon. The tax bills are mailed in July and the first payment is due August 1.

Property taxes are due on February 1, May 1, August 1, and November 1. Failure to receive a tax bill does not exempt you from paying taxes or the interest due on delinquent taxes. The Borough does permit a 10 day grace period. The State of New Jersey does not permit postmark, taxes must be received in the office on or before the 10th, however if the 10th falls on a weekend or legal holiday, you have until the next business day to make payment. All payments may be made by cash, check, or money order only.

Bills may be paid in full by adding the amounts on the four numbered stubs. This covers the last half of the current year and the first half of the following year.

Any open balance as of December 31st of the current year is subject to tax sale. The tax sale list will be available on this web site as well as advertised in the legal section of the Coast Star, which is a weekly paper available on Thursdays. The list may be emailed to you upon request at kmcguigan@avonbytheseanj.com.
