Avon Pool Information

Pool badges will be sold at the pool Wednesday, July 1st, from 10 am to 3 pm.  Pool will be opening at 9 am on Friday July 3rd.

We are very pleased to announce that the Avon by the Sea will open for the season on Friday, July 3rd. The Governor’s Office and the NJ Department of Health have released guidelines for the operation of public pools and we have made some changes this year to adhere to these guidelines

  • Our occupancy limits are based on NJ Department of Health guidelines and refer to the maximum number of people allowed in the pool facility at any one time: 250 This number includes people in the pool and on the pool deck. 114 is the number permitted in the pool only.  If occupancy limits are reached, no additional patrons will be permitted to enter until others exit the facility.
  • We will have pool ambassadors at both pools to encourage social distancing. This is also a requirement of the guidelines. These staff members are there to remind you of the social distance requirements and to monitor the usage of the pools. Please respect their role and follow any instructions they offer.
  • For purposes of contact tracing, the guidelines require the Borough to record the name and badge number of anyone entering the pool facility. Patrons must have your badge clearly visible, must stop and provide your name and badge number to our staff member and are strongly encouraged to wear a mask during this process. Please be patient with our staff during this process.
  •  * For patrons entering and exiting the pool, the gate attendant will be monitoring access to promote staggered entry to the pool and exit out of the pool

Please be courteous to your fellow swimmers and considerate of the personal space of anyone you interact with on the pool deck.  Our pool staff will be monitoring the pool use daily and we will make any necessary changes as the season gets underway. 2020 Census Day of Action

This Thursday, May 14th is a statewide Census Day of Action and we are again asking everyone to Call Those Who Count On You to see how they’re doing and to ask them to fill out their all-important Census.  We are asking as many folks as possible to participate in our Friends and Family Outreach call program. It’s simple to do and you can do it from the comfort of your own home. Everything you need is provided right here to start making calls: https://nj.gov/state/census-outreach.shtml
Here’s how the call program works – You call at least five (5) friends, neighbors or family members to check and see how they are doing. Then also ask if they’ve had a chance to fill out their Census. If they haven’t, we’ve provided info so that you can tell them why it’s so important. Then ask those who said yes to call 5 of their friends and family members - And so on, and so on.  As a friend, neighbor, or relative you’re a trusted voice and there is no one more effective than you to ask those you know to fill out their Census.
Key message for the Day of Action: The amount of New Jersey’s federal funding related to our COVID recovery depends on the completeness of our Census count. It’s that important. It’s not too late to respond to the 2020 Census while being safe and practicing social distancing at home.
